The Premise

The Tupperware SmartSteamer is a product that came out in the September 2010 catalogue and it's a one of a kind product on the market right now.

The ingenious design of the Tupperware SmartSteamer blocks microwaves from cooking foods. Instead, microwaves are directed to the Water Tray below, causing the water to boil and the steam to rise for perfectly steamed foods. The unique, two-tiered system lets you steam one or two foods at once. Several great recipes are included in the FREE recipe book.

Steaming is one of the healthiest ways to prepare food because it retains nutrients, fatty acids and vitamins while preserving color, texture and flavor. And it's also one of the most delicious, too!

So why a blog dedicated to the Tupperware SmartSteamer? For 2011, I'm going to be using the SmartSteamer at least once a day to show how useful a tool it can be in the kitchen. If I use it everyday, each use only costs 47 cents. I will post a photo here each day to show what I steamed. Follow along for ideas, recipes, and inspiration for healthier eating in 2011.
